Temperature Range Humidity Range Climate

Theraphosa is a genus of giant tarantulas that includes the largest spiders in the world by mass and legspan. Native to the rainforests of northern South America, these behemoths are truly impressive but require special care.

Due to their enormous size, high humidity needs, and sensitivity to poor ventilation, they are recommended only for advanced keepers. They are powerful and often defensive, and will flick urticating hairs readily when disturbed.
