Davus (Tarantulas)

Davus is a genus of terrestrial tarantulas native to Central America, especially Costa Rica. Known for their striking black and white banded legs and calm temperament, these tarantulas are moderately sized and often kept by intermediate hobbyists.

Davus species prefer warm, humid environments with deep substrate for burrowing. They are relatively hardy, but can be defensive when threatened. Proper husbandry includes a secure enclosure, moderate humidity, and appropriate feeding.
