Shipping Policy – The Spoodoire

Thank you for shopping with The Spoodoire, a trusted vendor on TarantulaMarket.com. We take pride in the health, safety, and wellbeing of every invertebrate we ship. Please read our shipping terms carefully before placing your order.
1. Dispatch Days
- Live orders are dispatched on Monday to Wednesday only, to avoid delays over weekends.
- Orders placed after 12:00 PM (midday) on Wednesday will ship the following Monday.
- Non-live item orders (e.g., enclosures, decor) may ship throughout the week.
2. Shipping Methods
We offer the following delivery services for live animals within the UK:
- Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1 PM – Recommended for all live animals. Tracked and insured.
- Courier Live Animal Service – Available upon request for bulk or high-value orders.
Note: We do not currently ship live animals outside the United Kingdom.
3. Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)
We offer a Live Arrival Guarantee under the following conditions:
- The package is signed for on the first delivery attempt.
- You provide an unboxing video showing the unopened parcel and the tarantula inside, in one continuous take.
- Temperatures on both ends are between 16°C and 28°C at the time of delivery.
If these conditions are met and the animal arrives deceased (DOA), we will offer a replacement or refund (excluding shipping fees), subject to stock availability.
4. Weather & Delays
We reserve the right to delay shipment during extreme weather conditions (too hot, too cold, or strike action). We will contact you to reschedule at the earliest safe date.
5. Packaging Standards
- All live invertebrates are securely packed in ventilated, cushioned containers suitable for transit.
- Heat or cold packs are included as needed depending on weather conditions.
- Non-live items are packed using recyclable or biodegradable materials where possible.
6. Shipping Costs
Shipping fees are calculated at checkout and depend on item type, size, and delivery speed. You will see full costs before payment.
7. Incorrect or Incomplete Addresses
Please double-check your shipping address before placing an order. We are not responsible for delays or losses due to incorrect or incomplete address details provided by the customer.
8. Returns
Due to the nature of live animal sales, we do not accept returns of live invertebrates unless covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee. Non-live items may be eligible for return in accordance with our general returns policy. Please contact us within 14 days of receipt.

Refund Policy
Refund Policy – The Spoodoire

At The Spoodoire, we are committed to customer satisfaction and the ethical treatment of animals. This policy outlines your rights and our procedures for refunds and returns. Please read it carefully before placing your order.
1. Live Animals (Tarantulas & Invertebrates)
Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)
We offer a Live Arrival Guarantee for tarantulas and other invertebrates under the following conditions:
- The animal is delivered via a guaranteed service (e.g., Royal Mail Special Delivery).
- Delivery is accepted on the first attempt.
- Shipping conditions were appropriate (ambient temperatures between 16°C and 28°C).
- An unboxing video is provided within 2 hours of delivery. This video must show the unopened parcel being opened in one continuous take.
If the animal is deceased on arrival (DOA) and all conditions are met, we will offer a replacement (if available) or a full refund of the animal’s cost. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
No Refunds for:
- Failure to receive the parcel on the first delivery attempt.
- Orders shipped despite unsafe temperatures due to buyer request.
- Stress-related behaviour (e.g. fasting, molting, hiding).
- Sex misidentification in juvenile/unsexed specimens unless sold as guaranteed sex.
2. Non-Live Items (Supplies, Enclosures, Decor)
Refunds and returns for non-living products are accepted in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving your item(s).
Conditions for Return:
- You must notify us of your intent to return within 14 days of delivery.
- Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in a resalable condition.
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was faulty or incorrect.
Once returned and inspected, we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 5 business days.
3. Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive a damaged or incorrect non-live item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photo evidence. We will offer a replacement, partial refund, or full refund depending on the situation.
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund or return, please email spoodoire@tarantulamarket.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and any necessary photos or video evidence.
5. Exceptions
We reserve the right to refuse refunds for any return or claim that does not meet the terms outlined in this policy. All refunds are issued at our discretion after verification of the claim.
